Smoking is a major risk factor for heart disease, and giving it up can significantly reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease and heart attacks. HUD is mandating a transition to entirely non-smoking communities by July 2018 for public housing residents. To get there, it will take effort by all members of the community: Residents, staff, support services, etc.
